Performing "Making Music II" technology residency, teaching computer music to kids 8-16 years old at the Youth Policy Institute in Pacoima, California. Co-sponsored by the American Composer's Forum Los Angeles and the Youth Policy Institute.

Performance with soNu at the University of California at Riverside's UCR Is Improvising festival.

 

 

January 2004 soNu's CD "Sounds From the Source" released on Nine Winds in January 2004. Featuring compositions by Anthony Braxton, George Lewis, and Wadada Leo Smith. Guest appearance by Vinny Golia.

 

 

November, 2003

Phil Curtis began work as Sound Designer for Trance motion graphic and animation design studio. Trance's new demo reel is scored by Phil.

 

 

November 19-22, 2003

Performances with the Arc Libre Collective, providing music for Cleveland's Groundworks Dance Theater at the Jarson-Kaplan Theatre in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

 

October, 2003

Began work as a Research Assistant for the Getty Research Institute's upcoming (summer 2004) David Tudor exhibit.

 

 

October 21 , 2003

Duo performance at Fais Dos Dos' Fat Tuesdays series with Alan Lechusza, Los Angeles.

Selected as a "Pick" by the LA Weekly: "Another weighty Fat Tuesday blowout. Phil Curtis likes to cut things up and recycle them on his laptop into unpredictable yet regular rhythms and textures that challenge the improvisor's mind, and reedman Alan Lechusza is perfect company.
